Today I was jogging through the woods and smelled the aroma of Jasmine in the air. Since it is the middle of the winter here in Michigan i recognized it was most probably an astral aroma. I remember reading the chapter on the perfume saint in the Autobiography so I did not put to much importance in it. But I do appreciate little blessings that come to me even in aromas.
Although, I decided to take mccoy’s link above open it and find ‘ jasmine’ to see if padre pio had a spiritual meaning. After I did a translation from Italian to English I found this;
Perfume of Jasmine, with sugared almonds it represents marriage. But in this case the sacrament that unites two spouses must be understood more as spiritual communion than as the union of two human beings. The scent of Jasmine is, for Padre Pio's devotees, the miraculous essence that confirms the resistance of marriage against the many daily attacks of the Evil One and his earthly servants. It represents the ability to resist the temptations of the flesh in order to strengthen one's marriage vows with the help of the Holy Padre Pio.
In case I have a need for this, I’ll keep it here as a reminder.
