Duḥkha
Duḥkha ( / ˈduːkə /; Sanskrit :दुःख; Pāli: dukkha) is an important concept in Hinduism and Buddhism, commonly translated as " suffering ", "unhappiness", "pain", "unsatisfactoriness" or "stress". It refers to the fundamental unsatisfactoriness and painfulness of mundane life.
Bengali: দুঃখ, (dukkhô)
English: suffering, unhappiness, pain, unsatisfactoriness, unease, stress
Pali: Dukkha
Sanskrit: दुःख, (IAST: Duḥkha)

From a Hindu perspective we begin to recognize just where we are in the grand scheme of universal understanding and where we are heading: concepts which most people do not even recognize or try to understand, thus walking in a sleep walk, in 🐜 ant like progression from life to life. Most people are under the illusion that they will find pleasure or happiness in their  present condition or some future condition,  but they fail to take in account the temporary pleasures offered by a material life do not bring lasting joy. This does not mean that happiness is not available to us. It is just that it is found inside instead of outside in the material world. ~ Jitendra

I'm not so sure about that. I don't consider being here a curse. I believe mother was gracious enough to allow us the opportunity to learn the lessons this planet, nature and duality have to offer. Eventually we will recognize this planet and all that is outside as belonging to One.

That is my personal belief, and I do not expect you to agree, respectfully.

Eric, I agree with your considerations, but I like the word 'cursed' in this context, meaning we are cursed by our own karma to live on this planet where we witness many hellish conditions. ~mccoy
