Waking up in the dead stillness of nite or early hours of morning

There is sometimes great blessings from spirit waking up at such times, as the mind is more still and the consciousness withdrawn. You are more conducive to the practice of meditation. In the summer it is cooler and in the early morning hours the very vibrations of the earth more settled and peaceful as most people are resting and not involved in restless activities and satisfaction of desires. It is a time better suited to relaxation and thus meditation.

It is also a time of hearing your breath much better and being cognizant of it for mantra practice. Especially if you have just woke up and have been breathing deep, perhaps snoring, while sleeping. You can hook on to that awareness and continue it in meditation.
