dearest Jitendra,
I had forgotten I asked this question, I am so sorry !!
You are right, I do not have a mantra. The one you have mentioned " shanti" sounds very peaceful, just listening to the sound of the word. Mantras with the blessings of a Master, sound like a beautiful blessing to have in your life.
And I would like to ask you, when do you use your mantras? In meditation or just anytime ?
love and light, always
Desiree
i will relate something that happened to me that illustrates a point about mantras. i was driving in heavy traffic yesterday and my thong got caught between the gas peddle and the brake. As a result when tried to brake i accelerated simultaneously. In the process i hit the back end of the car in front of me. It is my belief that had i been practicing the majic of the mantra i would have been spared the ensuing problems. However it helped me realize that we must think of the Master's and their grace constantly and this world is filled with the dualities or ups and downs. The hope we have is to keep the higher forces constantly surrounding us. The mantra's will help in this aspiration.
So to answer your question; While mantras are important during meditation, they should be used for every aspect of life to keep our consciousness high and to have the protective shield of the divine ones in our life. Most of us still experience the human side of life so it is important to bring the divine into our lives at every moment.
In our difficult experiences or when we are being disciplined we often look for answers to why this is happening to us. The truth is that i had been for warned the day before by a large crow that swooped down beside me before taking the same road but i could not interpret it's full meaning. It is helped by having this question asked of me. God works thru our friends and acquaintances to give us answers.
