Anyhow in lesson #150 Paramahansa Yogananda explains that we are trained from youth to develop our senses but not how to develop intuition. That is why we often come up with the wrong conclusions. To reason from the senses is to use the tool of inference. However because the senses do not always tell us the truth about the nature of reality we often come up with the wrong conclusions about people and our encounters with them as well as our encounters with everything in life. Therefore unless we have an excellent 6 th sense we can hardly have a definitive grasp of the significance of the situations we encounter nor what other people may mean to us or what they are about.

Because of this I see it as very important to realize we do not know for sure about a lot of things. It is better to have humility about our own understanding and in our relationship to others. At the same time developing this very important quality of intuition which can help us in our recognition of what we are facing in life and what others are facing as well as making the right decisions in life events.

Paramahansa Yogananda says that practicing the om technique develops our intuition. The om (aum) technique of meditation is given in the Self Realization Fellowship Lessons #30
Just as sound accompanies a motor... sound also accompanies all creation. This cosmic vibration is called om and by various other names by different religions. Science testifies to the truth of the above saying with the discovery that solids, liquids, gas, energy and matter are all manifestations  of different rates of vibrating energy.
