The body is always changing, don't let a habitual mind tell you otherwise. Mutation on a cellular level is constant. That said, our body is always communicating with us. Sometimes things we once enjoyed, the body has had enough of- and it's up to us to learn how to respond accordingly. I think some "issues" are actually a blessing in disguise. Like heart palpitations. I get them, and I know alcohol triggers it as well as caffeine. And deep down, I have a desire to learn how to establish a particular state without the dependency on external stimulus to get there. In this way, learning to ween off a substance- like coffee, has its benefits. And meditation, an ability to draw from within- not only soothes the palpitations and potential arrhythmia it can even bring about the desired effect- like a feeling of elevation, an altered state of mind or even joy- both immediately or intermittently. Is there a greater medicine?
