Are there more pictures of Paramhansaji playing instruments?

I love the picture on the cover of "Cosmic Chants", of Paramhansaji playing the esraj- he looks so joyful, and I am curious as to whether there are more pictures of Him playing musical instruments?

Any help in this department, or in finding pictures of Him in this way would be much appreciated.

Funny you should come around when i was thinking of you this morning. Yes he does look happy and i had not really thought about how joyful till you mentioned it.

By the way Brother Achilananda gave a talk this morning. He mentioned that he had not seen his family in 6 years after he became a monk. He than went and visited them. His sister was graduating from college and they were playing a part of the Nutcracker Suite at the ceremony. Brother said that  lyrics came to you immediately and our conversation about the Battle Hym of the Republic. i honestly believe he told that story so God could reveal something to me: Creativity can come thru in all kinds of wonderful ways. Just about the time you start thinking you know something you find out you still have lots to learn.    It helps keep you humble to have that awareness.  It seems there is no end to this expansion in every area of life. i stand corrected dear one....

Hello, all.

I have recently discovered Paramhansaji's version of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic", which stirs my soul deeply. However, I sincerely want to know whether there are other verses, as well as:

"In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free
His love is marching on
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His love is marching on."

In my prior experience of His version, there is only this one verse, thus I wonder whether it is possible to spiritualise the other verses of the song..maybe somebody who knows it better than I do will be able to help?

I was amazed by your story of Br. Achilananda- it's beautiful. In the picture I spoke of, Paramhansaji seems to radiate the true joy of the Divine Mother, through music. (As a musician, the picture is very dear to me.)

I'm mainly a guitarist, but I sing from time to time, too. (I'm getting used to using my voice as the instrument of choice when I use music as part of my sadhana.) I generally start most meditations now with a chorus or two of "Door of My Heart". I don't know whether there would be a better selection from "Cosmic Chants" to use for this purpose? Do you play at all, blue nova? I'm usually overjoyed to meet other musicians, and other musicians on the spiritual path is an added bonus, in my view.

you play guitar...how wonderful ...and you sing,,,,i bet you have voice like that of a nightengale ! 

such wonderful ways of communion with God...aren't they ? 

when young, i played flute and dabbled with piano......it was light-hearted,,,,,i enjoyed very much those years.  nowadays...i enjoy music created by other souls  .....   

....especially from souls such as you LTL,,,,where music and song come from the heart....

You are welcome Live to Learn. I just thought for those new to the forum, or new to Yogananda, they might like to see the picture. He does have a delightful smile ! I can see why you like that picture so much. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I had not seen it before.

The other picture you posted, he is playing the harmonium, right ? Such a serious look of concentration he has in this picture.
