As you know doubt know the term guru means teacher. i think Nomaste knows a bit more about this subject since he has a knowledge of some of the other paths that teach Kriya Yoga and investigated them before making his own personal commitments. It is rather interesting you know:The Kriya technique did not just come thru Paramahansa Yogananda. Sri Yukteswar, Lahiri Mahasaya and Babaji had other students. Then we find out that there are other 'Masters' that we meet in our life travels. They too are elevated souls with a mission to spread teachings and techniques. Everyone has to find their own given path and it might not be SRF and this path that is associated with Paramahansa Yogananda. That is what is nice about this life; there is variety and we can learn from our brothers and sisters of other paths. That is why this forum is not specifically called Yogananda, Paramahasaji or Yoganandaji etc.

We hope that all will feel welcome here with their various views and paths. We are large enough minded and open hearted to welcome Native Indians, Angels, Buddhists, Celts etc. etc. and we are not threatened by thier views and backgrounds but look forward to learning from them as well. It often seems to me that when people align themselves too strongly to only one view they often run the risk of boxing themselves in with those views. i find that often meeting people from other paths exposes some of the blind spots you might have due to being so inundated by your own persuasions. That is my experience.
