Nice, and truthful poem, although, to tell the truth, at night during awakenings you can experience states of mild anxiousness, things you dream, or problems of life that are magnified. People who can sleep deeply without awakenings may avoid that, but I believe they are few.

Yes most likely it is for us to see our own consciousness magnified as it overshadows spiritual awareness. We get a true look at our state of consciousness in sleep, when we dream.
