steve, probably you are right in that auditory hallucinations form schizophrenia have usually a negative or delusional connotation, but I'm really not sure.
Maybe schizophrenia may even in itself trigger some auditory phenomena which have a creative nature.
In your case, the phenomenon was clearly not schizophrenia, which left to itself without a cure, as you know, causes eventually significant mental degeneration.
I know this may sound unscientific, but it may come down to; what came first, the chicken or the egg? We are somewhat in a school here on earth. We come here to accomplish certain tasks and goals. Yet most people go on merrily with out the slightest recognition that life is for learning. To one such as you or i, we have begun to see certain meaningful patterns emerging in our lives. Fortunately we have found a Master and have begun to understand a plan we have been working on for perhaps many lives. Miracles and synchronicities help us to recognize that life is not a game of chance. Even in such occurrences as schizophrenia and other debilitating conditions that all of us face in life in milder or more extreme conditions have a purpose to reveal to us various aspects of our own behavior quirks. In this sense sometimes people are made somewhat helpless to certain conditions so they can no longer control life circumstances as they would like to. Those who do have the freedom to seemingly do as they wish quite often waste away their chance to really make something of their lives. In a misguided attempt to enjoy all the pleasures available to them in realty they only enslave themselves to another round of experiences of what it is like to do what they have done to themselves and others in their freely given choices.
Some of us meet again to fulfill a divine purpose for ourselves and others around us. We become accustomed to that purpose and become willing instruments of an emerging divine plan in our lives and the lives of those we find ourselves surrounded by.
