Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

Recently a friend helped come up with some new titles here. So I am responding to his doing that. Nicky was once a Administrator here. She has since past on but has always supported us even after making her transition. So a friend ( Dan ) recently had an experience with her presence ( she always experienced the angels as helping her spiritual efforts and sending signs to her and us when we spent time with one another. ) After an old thread just seemed to appear from her that led to the SRF lessons and specifically Lesson 16 I decided to reread the lesson to see what she might want us to know. I read this:

You can never have a truly happy life both inwardly and outwardly unless you use the God-given power of concentration to reclaim the forgotten image of God within you. Only then can you solve the mysteries of life and control destiny. Through the art of meditation one learns how actually to contact Divine Bliss—which is God — by the faithful application of the science of spiritual law. The material scientist experiments with cosmic laws in nature to find out the secrets of her creation; and the spiritual scientist ought to apply his divinely bestowed powers of meditation, and intuition to investigate the divine laws by which he may learn the secrets of spirit. ~Paramahansa Yogananda

Found in the study of lesson 17 (see below and in the lesson 17 study)

Lesson 17 continues the focus on concentration, from lesson 16.

I found the following " inspiration " to be most inspiring.

"It is good to remember the following : seek intensely until you find God. Knock until the doors of all wisdom are opened unto you.
Believe and act according to your faith, until you know. Pray until He answers. Meditate deeper and deeper, until you find and feel
Him as unending joy. Love Him until you feel His love. Talk to Him continuously in silence until He speaks to you.
Remember the so called certainties of life - such as money, fame and friends - are really the most difficult to retain. They may slip away any minute. So make the imperishable so- called unknown, uncertain God your own; you will find Him most faithful, when all else leaves you beyond the last gate of this life. "

and one of my favorite sentences here  ~ " Talk to Him continuously in silence until He speaks to you "  Wink
so does this work for Yogananda as well as God ?

I also find it interesting how often the meditation and concentration idea weaves its way into each of the lessons. This gives us a clue how important these two techniques are. I knew they were important, just didn't know 'how' important, now it is becoming more clear to me.

This seems to especially fit many experiences in my personal life and is only a reminder not to expect too much from this world and the people in it. Nicky is still helping from the other side as she said she would try to do.
