God gives and takes away

God often takes away things from us to remind us of our purpose here. Well if you really love someone and it was meant to be that person can come back to remind you of the the lasting expression of love. It never leaves forever. No just for a time to remind us that love comes from God and is only expressed thru creation and other human beings.
