hey Jitendra !
if meditation techniques are the best way to find God, so much searching, can take lifetimes it seems
does one ever find God ? does this happen only to spiritual devotees close to Gurus ? or those living in Holy Lands ?
we always hear of people ' searching ' for God - yet never hear of people ' finding God ' - or if so, very few
why ?
People never find God because they don't know what they are looking for. They are expecting a certain thing to be their end result. If one were seeking enlightenment would you know when you were there? or would you realize it was there all along you had just misplaced it?
Technique does help you to "reach God" for a better way of understanding. It allows you to focus your mind on such an outcome. Instead of your mind being all over the place.
To truly find God you have to strip away everything in your life, mind, body, spirit, to find what is always there. People have a head time finding God because they are looking for something that is separate. Most see God as a separate person directing traffic sitting in the clouds.
Thanks for the response and thoughts Amor and Secret Squirrel. i just wanted to add this: Yes i think all of us find God in our lives. It is to what extent that we realize we are finding God that often concerns us. We all have certain experiences with God that let us know we are finding him/her. We at times have the good fortune of seeing someone who has found out much more about God. Even to the extent that there does not appear to be a separation between the object of our seeking and ourselves. Yes we hear of people finding God but we do not choose to investigate. So who do we have to blame for lack of results in seeking? It is as simple as going to Chicago this summer and seeing Amma. You will find a person who has found God. Or you can take the SRF lessons and you will start to have small glimpses of your own divinity. You have to take the first step. No one can do it for you.
