In numerology, 666 is seen as a number set that points to abundance, luck and optimism. This is because once all three numbers are added, the resultant number, a 9, is viewed as one of selflessness as well as the pursuit of a quality life.

After chatting with friend Eric (here on the forum) I was encouraged by his understanding of both numerology and totems. Having more experience in these domains he mentioned to me that people may have their own interpretations of numbers or totems that comes independently of more traditional views. That is that such ‘messages’ may have a personal significance.

Interested. In my case it appears to be the reverse recently. 666 still is coming up. I suppose most of us are going thru a difficult mirror from the outside world now with the Coronavirus pandemic. Yet seeing this number reappear in my awareness makes me wonder about its personal significance.

On a soul level, you choose to incarnate into a physical body to accomplish the mission in this material World. You came into the physical world to grow yourself as much as you possibly can, and at the same time, this benefits all living beings because we are all connected as one.

As physical beings we have to constantly balance the energies that are within us and that come from to us from without, this means that we are always in a state of transition. That state of transition seems to be one of the recognizable points of the number 666.

Since the number 666 has come up repeatedly for me recently. I have found its association to the body most fascinating. Watching and observing the will act upon the body and realizing that we can also use will to our disadvantage. When we do not work within our own bodily abilities but try to force our bodies beyond their physical abilities we can end up with injuries.

Perhaps some of this might be related to COVID-19. We are not invincible although are will power may want to assert we are....at least not in the present state of consciousness most of us inhabit.

Since seeing just what has happened in the last couple months since I started this post I believe the context of 666 is affecting more than just me but all human beings and their life on this planet. 666 is indeed the number of man as Brother Bhaktananda related to me in my early 20’s.

I remember asking Brother  Bhaktananda what the meaning of 666 was when in my early 20’s. I recall him saying it was the number of man and he went ahead and described the qualities. Qualities that added up to 18....6+6+6 =18. At the time I was a bit overwhelmed by his response as he often had a rather simple explanation to complex questions that required careful and thoughtful attention. Sometimes knowledge requires self assimilation. He often left me with that conclusion.

I remember reading in "the Emerald Tablets of Thoth" (or perhaps some new age book which presumed to be a channel of such an impossibly verifiable "ancient text of the Spiritual King of Atlantis)

In it, Thoth said 6 is the number of "physical completion", 7 is "Spiritual completion" (or actual completion)

the inclusion of 3 numbers "666" refers to the the subcategorization of Man as being physical, emotional and mental.

Crowley used this number to not just scare off Fundamentalist Christians (due to "Daddy issues", his father being a famous British Evangelist)... he referred to himself as 666 The Great Beast

The Great Beast embraces ALL of the Physical domain as the Spiritual Domain, which is an inverted/upside-down view of The World

Crowley's Path was to feed the "beast" of the physical body and its desires endlessly... Knowing that eventually, continuously He the Soul would have to acknowledge the problem with this and Surrender to God, which He did over and over, in a cycle that ended with him dying penniless in the throes of heroin addiction, despite the "great impact" the "great beast 666" had on the world...

666 is sacred if this is seen as something to honor and let go of... 

As Steve says, 6x3=18 and numerologically 18=1+8=9.... so 666=9... If one encompasses "the full materiality" of the physical, emotional and mental aspects of One Self... All of that "great beast" stuff of the Body-mind, becomes reduced to the Supremely Spiritual Number of 9... which leads back to 1...

Crowley also said "All numbers are Infinite"... so 666 is also sorta arbitrary... but basically represents an "endpoint" for a "journey of Human materialism" as I conceive of it...

6 to 9, 69... the material becomes the mirror to the Spiritual... 9 is Abundance, Happiness, Gain... but beyond the point of excess... at the point at which all must return to the Self... to the Simple... to the Spiritual... 9 is the Hermit in Tarot's major arcana series...  The Hermit is guided by Inner Light to return to God, Self through Intuition (having acquired great Strength from the World, or witnessed it's endless Strength... the Hermit prepares to prepare to "spin the wheel of fortune" once again, with Faith in Self or God... Having learned there is no end to the concepts and "ups and downs" of the appearing and disappearing world...).
