Thanks Eric!

And Thanks Steve!  Well, music and spirituality go hand in hand for us, right?

The non-sequiturs are definitely something I like...

Re: DNA

Kendrick has another song on the album called "Humble", so there is definitely some implication there of a surrender to God, and he's definitely a Spiritual dude.  "DNA" is a very angry song, quite punk rock.  Full of ideas, accusations alongside beautiful, positive affirmations.  Even the concept of "I've got loyalty, got royalty inside my DNA" is quite deep.  While the song is aimed mainly to be an empowering anthem for Humans of African descent, I'd say the concept goes much deeper even if you consider all Humans have 99.9% the same DNA, and our DNA goes as far back as single celled organisms at the "dawn of time", itself with traces of cosmic dust from the Big Bang... "We are all made of stardust" is another way of saying this, as Carl Sagan said.

But I wouldn't say this song gives me a feeling of peace.  To me, it's just a fun, impressive, high energy rap song, and I would dare to say Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper of all time, right now, and this song is a great example of his masterful lyricism and performance.

To feel peace, I'd listen to something much different, probably with no lyrics.  I listen to a lot of classical music and youtube videos for rain lately.

I'm definitely still meditating!  We just had a Self Enquiry meetup hear in Austin tonight, and I wouldn't have started that Meetup group if you hadn't maintained this website for Eric to invite me to, and then from Brock to introduce me to Ramana Maharshi and Self Enquiry!

Thank You Steve!! <3
Thank You Eric too!

I hope you both are having a great week! (:
