Yes there is a SRF group in Paris :-). I sometimes go there. The group is expanding a lot, and I try to contribute the best I can.
About Macron, I'm not invested a lot in politics....
What I value is that he's young, dynamic and modern. I met last week a person (businessman) who knows him well. he told me "he is the smatest guy I ever met".
What I don't like : he's obviouly financed by "big money" and favors the transatlantic deal on trades (TAFTA) that is a very controversial subject here.
For example Macron didn't respect his promises for banning specific pesticids that kill bees. He is also favouring "big meat" industry, "big pharma" and those things.
Thanks so much for your reply. Happy to see you are aware of these things. It is surprising; I was in a grocery store here where I live in the day Donald Rump was elected president. I noticed the clerk was very happy. I asked her if it had to do with the election. She said ; “Yes” she appeared elated. I asked her if she knew what climate change was and she replied that she had never heard of it. It is surprising to find many people in this country who do not even have a clue. The ones that have heard are so much after a quick buck, that they do not take the time or effort to find out...while our earth is being destroyed as time and the devil laugh at the plans of mice and men.
