Experience

Until we are firmly placed on the spiritual path most of us seek experiences in the outside world. These experiences have no comparison to the inner experiences in meditation nor will they benefit us in the same way. Although they can and do help in our spiritual unfoldment they often deter that unfoldment because outer experiences give rise to more desires that prolong our lives here on this earth and other similar material existences which are marred by outer illusions and disillusionments.
