I have found discussing and even arguing with another person about politics, or anything really, can unburden both people if you remain centered. It is an opportunity to share the fragrance of your meditation. It itself is a kind of meditation. It is a chance to observe and clarify your thoughts, before kissing them off into the abyss.
They are fleeting things, after all.
Our minds are actually burdened by the weight of their own beloved opinions. This happens without conscious awareness for the most part. The image of Atlas holding the entire world on his shoulders has some application here.
Beautiful post Brock, well articulated.
I have seen myself burdened by my own thoughts and opinions but as you've said, these things are fleeting after all.
Namaste!
