I didn't watch the vid but, if you saw the matrix films, we are part of the simulation, although what we see is not real, rather an imaginary construct.

some descriptions in teh article really do sound like the Hindu scriptures. There, thsi unverse is described as God's lila, or entertainment. In such a sense, thsi universe is a simulation, run by God.

Whatever that being is, it very well might be able to create a simulation of a universe.
