After practicing the presence for sometime we occasionally have the experience of the state: Rich With Being. That is our practice has turned into a reality and we often have the experience of spirit manifesting in and around us.
I think it works both ways. I had an unusual ‘experience’ happen to me today. It is getting much colder for the next 2 or three months here in winter water wonderland. I had been thinking that my coat was really not warm enough to meditate for long periods in below freezing weather. As I was thinking about it I saw a winter coat on sale at a department store. It said it was half off but no sign showed the original price. When I went up to the counter I was asking the clerk the regular price because the discount price was $50. As I was speaking a man in the check out line adjacent to mine turned around and gave the clerk a $50 bill. She looked at the bill rather quizzical and I told her. “That’s quite a tip.” She said ‘no it was given to you’ I was a bit confused but after paying with my credit card she handed me the bill. I then stepped away from the counter and waited till the man walked away with his groceries and followed him outdoors. I came up to him and said ‘ Your not going to get away with that without an explanation. I don’t know 🤷♂️ why you did that but thank-you very much. He explained to me that often through the years he was given a hunch or indication to do something for some one but didn’t. He felt this time he should act on his hunch. I gave him my phone number and the name of this site on a piece of paper.
For me this was a direct experience of God’s help and I was aware of and on and off during the day I was practicing the presence. Sometimes we experience the results in rather dramatical ways. I remember Brother Bhaktinanda saying he practiced the presence all the time. Saying “ I love you Guru” in his own thoughts and prayers. One day Paramahansa Yogananda walked up to him and said; “ I love you also.”

the hardest thing for me is maintaining awareness. i believe spirit is ever present- working in ways we may not always recognize....

Even if you do not recognize how spirit works now... eventually it will be obvious to you. Having faith in the fact that your practice is helpful will be helping you. We may never know the help we receive until we are hit over the head with it.
