You're right. I'm sure though, there are practices and sayings masters share that "most regular society" and I mean that with my best beatrice voice, would consider or look down upon as foolish!
What was it like being vegetarian growing up in the US?
Perspective.
To some, we are bad actors....
And to others, we are masters.
Living in cloneland where male chickens r churned up and we see signs at MCCLONALD's 'I am loving it' when we know the cosmetics of making a hamburger only look lovely. We couldn't ourselves hack off the heads of cows and watch gallons of blood pour down below.
Let us avoid being plucked at the ankles by chickens we have killed to eat and making r stomachs an aquarium for fish to swim in.
I was told that I would die from not having the proper protein. I was laughed at and teased and kidded for my diet in all my younger years. What did it feel like to be an outcast in a sick society?... like a 'weirdo' who still had faith in himself that practicing yoga and being called 'yogi bear' and being a vegetarian and being told I needed meat on my bones only added to my resolve to continue in my practices. Guess what... 40 years later you see yoga advertised everywhere and more and more people are becoming vegetarian. It makes me feel good to be way ahead of the times and to have good health and peace of mind when I see so many - who made me the butt of their jokes - now having health challenges and psychological problems.
Sometimes u just have to be true to yourself. The last thing you want to be is normal. It would be the end of your spiritual life folks. We have found one another here let us be grateful for our lifestyles and to be in the presence of others who reinforce them. There was a time there was little or no support.
