Yes, the prevailing theory today is still that the tidal forces cause the earth's wobble and consequent precession. Walter Cruttenden, a fan of Sri yukteswar and a wealthy devotee, has founded the BRI to try and validate SY's hypothesis. It remains an 'heretic' position though, until scientific evidence is presented.
We also know that science has progressed by heretic positions.
