I'm still a little confused.

If some people's paths are with the Bible, how can that be called an act of the devil?

I believe that whatever slows your evolution down is a demonic suggestion. The devil suggests to those people that reading the bible and trying to convert other people will gain them the heavens. So they go on indiscriminately  (and sometiems obnoxiously) trying to convert other people, instead than praying and seeking inspiration in meditation and introspection.

That's a pretty subtle suggestion, but that it is. Spiritual oneupmanship. A believer in the Bible is necessarily better than a believer. A believer who can convert unbelievers is one notch higher up.

Satan is smart, San Padre Pio wrote that Satan sometimes manifested to himself in visions disguised as Jesus, the Virgin Mary and other saints.
