Steve, I think that Obama himself has realized the disastrous outcome of the American intervention in Lybia and has confessed to have been negatively influenced by England and France.
Kaddafi was a cruel dictator but managed to avoid anarchy, which is now rampant. As you say, it's hard to decide which evil is worse.
