Hello!  Hope everyone is well.  I am excited to share a few of my paintings from the last 6 mos or so.  The first is a scene from an actual place - one of my favorite places to walk, boat or just be. The second two are abstracts but inspired by photos two different friends took of two different rivers. Hope you enjoy. Thank you for looking.  Would love to see more paintings from others.  <3

That second one stirred something in me, that's odd, I don't normally become affected by paintings per se. What's the story behind that one? (I hope it's not a bad story)

Well, that painting went through a few phases.  It started out bright, turned dark, kept morphing.  Had a drowned body drifting in it for awhile.  lol. My family wanted to know what the odd thing in the lower right corner is. A rock?  Part of a ridge? It isn't anything; I just liked the feel and shape of it, but suspect it is either grief - or hidden strength - welling up from below.  If you sense a bad energy, it may be because I was distraught during that time - and I use that word casually because I don't have a word for what I really felt.

The actual photo is stunning, though - entirely different. Intense light, stunning pale blues and greens, shimmering water.... lovely!  A river in Oregon. Thanks for commenting.  Do you paint?

This looks like a portal to your past shannon. Your past in Oregon and France. Your past arrises more often with Saturn transiting your moon. It can b quite a sentimental journey!  I remember driving thru Oregon quite a lot. A few years ago I was thinking about starting a music business along the coast and had a storage unit there. All the trees and forest area near the ocean was terrific.

Your pictures have so much scenery underneath the surface. Even treasure far far below. It all appears to b symbolic of the depths of reality beyond our seemingly ordinary existance. The water spiders at first appear formidable but after closer observation they have funny faces and seem to reflect their true identity of entertainment on the way down to the treasure below.

The France canal scene-Canal du Midi-is like a world of its own.The reflections off the glassy surface reveal a different view from above. Intentionally or not there appears to b a man in the tree to the viewers rite... holding a guitar in his hand.  He is wearing a green shirt and is holding a brown guitar. There is a large flower right underneath him and he has a beard. He is a part of a long vine hanging from the tree. U may have  to expand the photo on your phone or computer to make him out. But there he is! There r also dark apparitions in the trees high above. I see a brite future at the end od the canals corridor.

Metolius needs more time for me.

I saw Babaji free from this cosmic dream
there is an open door to a corridor
beyond time and space
there is a place
where all our heroes fade away

i have meditated in such splendid places. When we add the factor of meditation to our memories they become unforgettable. Didn't know you have so much talent on reserve... just waiting for u to share it.

thanks... it is much like entering someone's personal world. After opening my eyes to the world outside... to Chicago-where i am at today- I realize I just had been inside of another person's inner life and inner stirrings.

Thank you EricB!  Smiley

Thank you Steve!  My family left Oregon when I was ten, but I still feel drawn to the nature there.  Wendy (from SRF) lives near the Metolius; that painting was inspired by one of her photos.  She used to hike and mediate near the water - you could feel the calm exuding from her pictures.  I cannot see the guitar man, but will keep looking.  I love that about poetry and art - lyrics and music too - how people see or hear what is meaningful to them.  While searching for guitar man, I did find a lot of faces I did not notice before though.  Eeerie!  Ha ha.  I understand what you mean by peering into a different world.  I sometimes get lost in reading poetry books or listening to music and cannot believe so much time has passed with my wandering in incredible places that have nothing to do with where I actually am.  Thanks again for looking and commenting.  I appreciate it.  Smiley

the guitar man is sitting on the third tree from the rite hand corner. put your  thumb nail at the top of the picture. he is that far down hanging from a vine. He has a fluffy green shirt , a brown cap and vest as well. still can't see him? enlarge the picture. the things that come out of the unconscious mind!

yes we have wondered into a most panoramic picture show called life. some art form that has been! the challenge is to find our way back out of this hologram.  Undecided

Steve, yes!  I see him!  Well, what do you know?  Ha ha.  Only to my eye, he is not a guitar man but rather a perfect little garden gnome - with a tall pointed hat and a hoe in his hands.   Smiley

No I dont paint, I don't have any artistic talent.

I didnt sense a bad energy, but like you it was a kind of feeling I can't quite put my finger on.

Visually it is very smooth and blendy and has a nice 3D depth to it.

Lived in Oregon most all my life, never been up there, Camp Sherman I believe, it seems to me though I went to a week long summer school there when I was too young to know anything.

Yea i like your imaginations wanderings better. A garden gnome. Sometimes abstracts are better because they leave much to the imagination. i often think that way in music. Inferring things that can b looked at differently depending on someones perspective. i try to not shove it down someones throat. But life; it really has many things going on that we do not notice. People r like that too. Sometimes you find that you see more to someone then they see themselves... not yet at least. But then again you can also project your own stuff on them.
