Laila count yourself fortunate to be in the presence of others who understand the importance of diet and it's affect on our planet and ourselves. It is surprising how others ignore the issues.
I live on the west coast of Canada, McCoy. There are quite a lot of "alternative" lifestyle people here, which includes vegans and raw vegans, environmental and animal activists, etc. Of course there are still a lot of "regular people" and meat eaters too ! But, we're working on them ………

I recently read Chris Kyle's book 'American sniper'. He fought in Irak against insurgents, in places where the living conditions of the civilian populations are extremely bad.
In an interview in a TV program I grasped these words he said to the anchor man: "In America, we live in a dreamworld". That impressed me. That's true of America and most western countries of course. We live in a privileged condition. Many people in the world live in a real hell. We tend to forget about that.
unfortunately there is not an immediate solution to that, but praying like Steve says.
Yes well your pictures brought it home to us. You've got to be insensitive to see this and ignore it. We Are The World. If we have no compassion we are these frightful little bodies and minds separated from the the rest of the human race.
