Sprouts are very good, although one time I had the impression to eat children. Really, they were corn sprouts and I was uneasy eating the seedlings, maybe memories of some extreme jainist former incarnation.
The vegetable food we may eat without actually killing it would be little, probably. All fruit for sure. Maple syrup. The vegetables which grow up again after being cut (cutting would be equal to pruning).
Eating nuts, seeds and sprouts would mean to kill the potential plant, like eating an embryo. Unless the plant reincarnates in the seed only when there is water in it causing germination, then the killing would apply only to sprouts.
Its still a little explored aspect, not pleasant to vegetarians, which could be killers in their own right, even as the meat eaters.
Sorry for the OT.
Hello mccoy i am happy to hear you are so sensitive to life. Sorry but eating sprouts has no affect on me. (However, decapitating animals and fish to eat does.)Though i do feel it important to be grateful for their sacrifice to my life and i express that through prayer. i like radish, red clover, broccoli, alfalfa, lentil and oriental sprouts. They are a source of instant energy and life since they are not cooked or altered genetically. They make a wonderful salad or sandwiches with cheese, tomatoes, olives etc.
