Desserts made out of wholesome foods may be good (for example, whole grain cereals, honey or dried fruits, almonds...).

Desserts made with White flower, White sugar and various fats are the worse, healthwise. Pure junk.

Oftentimes a dessert I enjoy is wholegrain bread, butter and honey, or dried fruit and nuts.

Oh yea! Perhaps we just have to change r definition of such things to include what is good for us.
