Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

Steve the 4 agreements changed my life i no longer care what others think of me that is their problem i am not going to stop living my life over it! Sometimes we get too emotionally attached to another person and that is what causes a lot of problems in the friendships! I learned that too it is the other person that has issues of their own and take it out on us that was the hardest thing i had to learn was not take that personally which is hard to do cause it was directed right at us! Your right about them not changing their mind sometimes it is hard for the other person to listen after they take a slam at us and it is easier to create a misunderstanding instead of working through them and real friends always do and find their way back!! I know who my friends are now!!

It seems to me that at the heart of it all is the ability to feel for others. Sometimes a concept in our mind is vague and nebulous but it attracts circumstances from which we can learn or or we ourselves will be thrust into circumstances that 'hurt us' and force us to be more compassionate otherwise we become like rocks-unfeeling. In this sense we can go beyond taking it personally and find meaning even when others slam us. Ofcourse; at the sametime we can relieve ourselves of these people.
