This sexual desire in its normal state makes man quite free from all disturbing lusts, and operates on the organism (awaking a wish for appeasement) only infrequently.  Here again experiment shows that this desire, like all other desires, is always normal in individuals who lead a natural life as mentioned~Sri Yukteswar


As you can see this infrequent appeasement that Sri Yukteswar describes is not answered by HOW it is appeased. So far I have not read one of the Gurus reply to that. So it is seems obvious that it would be up to the discretion of the individual.

As a student of Psychology and noting the danger of repression of natural instincts that our guru speaks of himself i believe that like eating, eliminating and sleeping;
the sexual instinct is one of the last things to go and can be used for many useful purposes as eating and sleeping can be also. Most of us on the spiritual path have started to refine our natural instincts as we move closer to a spiritual expression in everything.
