While reading Eric’s entry today about synchronous moments of the 💜 heart it also happened at the same time that I experienced moments of love alone. It occurred to me that often when we are alone we are being brought to expand our notion of love beyond the boundaries of ourselves and our personal sentiments. We can love so many ways. And I’ve had moments of finding love for nature and music very exhilarating lately, noting that like Eric’s synchronized listening of the same song with another person… I also could have such experiences of that in nature, listening to music and nature, as well as for instance friendship, that gave me the distinct feeling that once again, as in the past I could have expanded experiences of love that do not depend on another human in romance. In fact the moment I felt the greatest love in life, was surprisingly not with another human being. Although I’m sure their are many ways to be in love and many experiences of love with many different phenomena.
At this point I want to revisit the opening paragraph of this thread;
Sri Yukteswar said, “The first and most essential thing on the spiritual path is to uncover the natural love of the heart; without that one cannot take one step on the spiritual path.”
How is that possible without the grace of a spiritual Master? Do we as human beings really have the capacity to truly love without spiritual or God’s help?
