Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

« on: Aug 04, 2013 09:38 am »

Thanks for sharing.

( I as well gazed into the meditative darkness for decades, yet found some peace from the practice, so I continued )
It is interesting that the light which I observed essentially once, but so vividly in those early years decades ago,
Well, my mind (I) had discounted it as just some physiological or mental construct, not so much of any spiritual sign-post,...

yet decades later, when my sadhanna really re-emerged so deeply,
that same light pattern emerged and could essentially be experienced at-will via a specific yogic practice.
It was only then that I was able to understand it was a sign-post and absorb some of it's meaning.

Then it evolved to other experiences of light, sound, and other evidences /' observations...
and each of them holds unique and distinct purpose, and I continue to observe and contemplate them,
(as I do the weather, and the birds and life)
but the experiences are very personal, and I am shy to share much more at this time, in such a public forum...

************
And you and I are in agreement...

(for me) it's not "Going beyond all frames of reference and guideposts" --
moreso, just being gently mindfull I not become magnetized or hypnotized by them.
(just accepting them as a really majestic and welcome sign.  Like when driving thru desert and see Joshua Tree... it's fine to gaze and reflect upon it, but if we stay too long we delay getting to the Pacific Ocean, etc.  And I know from my little experience swimming in the Pacific Ocean that it is yet beyond compare for me.  And yet, we must practice contentment with the present moment and place, and not rush past significant symbols and signs, etc. )

that's kinda what I'm trying to share of my experience, what I've been thru... it's not necessarily the same for us all,... just sharing and discussing...

With all events,
whether everyday human events or deep subtle events,
the key seems to remain in gentle heart nucleus of Being -- just observing from that platform (the key word is "observing")...
because God seems so very shy, and seems if we make a big deal of a more subtle or spiritual miracle, then God kinda dissipates as the morning mist under the rising Sun's heat...
(its seems our over-attention, our excitement, and grasping is kinda like the action of the Sun upon the mist)

( I have to admit, when I've had some experiences in deep meditation, that it was unexpected... therefore, I was kinda shocked and lost that ability to just remain gently observing,... and yes, the experience drifted away,... yet, the next time that experience occurred, I was able to remain with it a bit longer, next time a bit longer...  so it's also kind of getting used to observing the signs and guideposts, because it can be kinda a strange experience at first, kinda unexpected.   I've talked to some other devotees and they relate the same type of 'reaction' and eventual getting used to the subtle realm signs and guideposts.)

(for me), I often notice that the mind likes to put a 'label' or 'explanation' to these sublime experiences.   And it takes a while in that regard as well to get the mind assimilated and quieted, so it's not trying to explain or understand, but just accepts the soothing affect, etc.   But that seems a natural process, and I am kinda getting used to just observing that process as well... (hmmmnnn...)

************
Of these vibratory centers, and their light and sound echos, etc.

It seems ever apparent that there are sheaths (or layers or such) in our apparatus or field (our body and mind)...
(and these colors are great example !)

what is interesting in meditation is that focusing and going deeper does not necessarily mean leaving behind, or destroying the less sublime sheaths...

it is just that we kinda seem to go deeper,
we are "aware of" All of it,
but are not distracted by any of it...

I am a novice in so many ways...
the key seems the consistent effort,

to release, and go deeper
(intensity of focus and devotion and such)...
we can be very 'intense', yet the body and mind be configured very relaxed and pliable...
(and that's an interesting thing to observe)...

the key also seems that each beamlet expresses unique,
we each have different portions or timelines upon which the map expressed by the Ancient Rishis and Saints expresses...
just like there are so many types of flowers...
(some even blossom in winter or in the snow)
the diversity is part of the elegant simplicity expressing...

Cheers...

thanks for sharing some time with us Namaste2All and sharing some of your inner realities!
it inspires some of our own. it is quite a post and I'll be reading it again!
I noticed you mentioned the Pacific Ocean. I am there now; parked beside the beach.. listening to the lap of the waves against the shore. we have shared so much. there's much to be grateful for.the sound of the ocean is like the sound  of om. it soothes the consciousness. I will appreciate iit a few last times before I travel. I am getting sleepy but I'm going to get out of the truck and energize even though it's late. you inspired me!  Hope to see you soon my friend so we can share life again.
share  nature ... share meditation share God's presence!
