Namaste2All and I have made this journey several years now. We can't see each other in the physical like we could when we lived in Michigan. He now lives in Tennessee and I in Southern California.
So we kind of turn off most of the world and put ourselves in the presence of Amma totally.
Also in the quiet of nature. We have memories that transcend time and space and will probably bring us together and has brought us together for incarnations.
It is interesting to observe that this year, that while Steve and I had some very engaging conversations and sharing, and even moments of just being silly...
it was very interesting for me to observe how much we just settled into the silence, and did not speak much at all, but just some chosen and measured words.
The other neat thing was that during retreat, while we shared a room, and we kinda liked the idea of being near each other or such... because we are friends ya know...
well, I cannot recall ending up physically near Steve only a couple of times during Ammas talks and such... we would kinda end up near each other for a while in the cafeteria, or in the hall, or such... but it did not matter much either way... it seems we were both very engaged in 'diving deep' and 'letting go' of all that outward world... and we really kinda experienced being 'in the zone' at the same time. So when we get 'in the zone', we are on the same subtle frequency... so what's it matter where we are physically, or we are saying with our mouths... it's a good groove to experience...
There were some very nice moments of complete synchronicity...
And we both kinda just remained very patient with each others human moments... I would say it was as we say, 'worth the wait'. Steve and I have been very fortunate to have known each other for decades as yogi devotees... it is just a simple and obvious observation, that we have traveled many lifetimes as yogi devotees together (not just as human father, mother, friend, beloved roles)... it simply is apparent... and we needn't have some clairvoyant tell us about some specifics of these past lives or even have our own visions of those past lives... it is just a simple, gentle, observation of truth... it is a treasure, that God made it true that we do not come alone, but in flocks... that God made it true, that it takes many petals to make a blossom...
And we are petals of the divine blossom...
