the mind is like getting a plate of food and then seeing someone else's plate beside us.
we think.... I should of got that. what we like today we dislike tomorrow.
in this manner our mind is continuously vacillating. soon we lose track of who we are.
we could tell our fingers and feet to be still but can we tell our thoughts to be still? this is the goal of meditation. we need to still our minds. it is a essential to begin to realize the expansivenes of the universe.

How do we still the mind? i have given a lot of THOUGHT

to that question. Paramahansa Yogananda has stated that: 'in the Divine Mind an unchangeable perception of Bliss is ever present.' How do we cultivate this state of consciousness?
It seems to me that the most important element would be to give time to the quest for inner stillness so that the minds activities can slow down and we can get in that stream of cosciousness called bliss that Yogananda talks about and experiences.
