Musical friends

As we travel through this lifetime we meet so many friends along the way. Steve Hyd-on-us (aka. Surrender Kitty) was one of those people that became my closest musical and personal friends. There is a friend that i met 42yrs ago and played together with in a band, which was my very first band. His name is Shawn Bryant. He was one of the nicest people i have ever met in my life and has such a gentle soul. He has been very blessed musically and in his own personal life. He has crossed paths with many many different musicians and singers etc. He had me audition for his band he was forming at that time and i had been learning drums on my own and had only played for about six months on a "real set" of drums. Shawn said to me "you play pretty good for learning on your own in such a short time". His comment meant so much to me as a friend at that time in my life because it gave me the confidence to play on in music which was my passion. I grew up rather poor and i had to work for a farmer down the road to earn enough money to buy my very first snare drum. That in itself was the blessing. Our gifts as we travel through this lifetime should be shared together in friendship and love. God gives EVERYONE their own unique personal "gifts" and sometimes if we create a large ego from that gift it may become a negative if not used with love and be shared with love to others we may meet. Those that i have met and will meet along my path can also be another blessing for me! I met Shawn a long time ago but our paths were crossed at that time and it was part of Gods plan for me and it helped give me direction in my life. Those that i may meet throughout my lifetime whether in person or on a spiritual portal such as this may be another "friend" that will help me travel on with more confidence and knowledge of something new and even more wonderful! "Soul Friends" i say! This current photo is of Shawn when he was playing with the "Legends of DooWop" Show at the Venice Theater in Venice,Florida. He normally plays guitars and plays in several other bands incl. a Beatles tribute band (George Harrison's part) called British Invasion.
