I remember many years ago I was working on an Harbour quay in Sicily. We had to set up some downhole appliance for oil rigs to be sent to Lybia. I didn't like to take hard hat, boots and coveralls back to the hotel, so I left them all in a bag on the quay. I also left a bar of chocolate in a bag's pocket. The day after I went and take the chocolate and a part of it had been taken away with a morsel. I started thinking, who's the weirdo who goes around biting chocolate in other people's bags and then leaving the rest of it in the pocket? Then suddenly I realized it wasn't people, it was rats.
So I started taking some leftover parmesan cheese from the restaurant and leaving pieces of it around. One of my colleagues started to mess with me. 'People usually leave poisonoud morsels to rats, you are feedign them with valuable parmesan cheese'. Yes I retorted, I hope the parmesan is good enough so that they'll forget about my chocolate.

Here at home though I leave poison around, since there are so many rats that they leave droppings all around, if I feed them cheese I'm afraid the droppings are going to grow so big until they look like bull$hit. Cannot hire cats since there are 3 dogs around.
