Steve, I too reasoned like you until I could see the malevolence in the eyes of my ex fiancee. I don't even have the time to pray for her, I must pray for myself first and family.
So, good riddance to it, the good time spent together was wasted time or maybe it was useful time then? I don't know and I don't mind to know, it's the past, life flows, I have more immediate concerns, Amen to that.
i see what you are saying but I also believe that many miracles can happen in our lives and the lives of others we come into contact with. Many times our views with others seem insurmountable. Yet time often changes them and ourselves. It is possible to see things more clearer with time. It is possible to make friends of so called enemies. There was a reason we were brought together closely with others. Karma is not usually black and white. We have shared many experiences with those we have attraction/repulsion conditions. If we continue in dark feelings towards others we create more karma for ourselves.
Often there are turnarounds in our life if we are open to the possibility. When we have a true guru we find there is a purpose for everything and the ultimate end results of our encounters with others can have a profound change in our lives as well as theirs.
Reality has a surreal experience to those who do not see it so concrete but as waves of energy attracting and repulsing. As light awakening. As opportunities in the making...as a rewriting of our lives day by day.
