hi steve i wanted to thank you for this post. it makes a lot of sense and i really appreciate all the wisdom you've been dishing out recently. i'm on my phone so keeping this short. i feel i can relate though(just a lil) and am really glad u decided to share this. ty brotha ! :p : ) bye have a goodone

My introduction to St. Augustine came in the form of text which was on the back of the order of service for the memorial of a dear friend, whom I've definitely mentioned here before, considering that she was the one who brought me to a path- although it's originally in Spanish, I have sort of translated:

I die but my love does not die. I will love you in heaven as I loved you on earth. Be virtuous..... and don’t let yourselves be overcome by sadness. I am going to Heaven where I wait for you in the midst of the love of God. To those who cry, the most beautiful thing of all is left, the hope to meet in Heaven, and meanwhile, on the earth the memory ..... of life.

To Live to Learn and all others who have loved without thought of it being returned. There are only tears of joy and gratitude.

A tuning fork resonates to a certain vibration and frequency and so it is with kindred souls. We r often very inspired and compelled by meeting connections from the past. We often feel as though for a moment everything is rite. Like God is so real and he has really intervened to make our life significant thru circumstances and significant relationships. But then we find that perhaps we have rushed in where angels fear to tread. We might have even wondered if we were foolish when relationships turn out to b like something dying within us. We r thrown back on our Selves. Yet if we do not resort to blame we find that life can give us a new understanding. We will pick up the pieces and move on. Life goes thru these transitory states: Birth living and then death. So do relationships.

It is more rare to have solid relationships that transcend time and space; the changes of life. But they r possible. i have seen them and we must always b open to them and not r preconceived notions of how things will turn out. Because life is good even though we sometimes dip into sour milk. If we give love to another-love reciprocates in its own way and time. Perhaps thru the experience we become a little slower and a little wiser.

There is nothing wrong with us. Just to have experienced some love is God's grace. We and those we meet r only capable of expressing a limited nature of God's love and thus we feel the pain of that limitation and separation in between times of experiencing love. The separation is becoming less and love is filling in as we r becoming who we really are.

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.  ~Corinthians 1 13:12

The Dance by Tony Arata

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance
