i monitor my thoughts all the time....if i happen to catch a criticism or complaint forming i correct it....

it can be difficult to catch them before they form in the mind.....it takes constant monitoring....lots of practice....but soon one will notice that they come less and less.....

For me criticism comes from feeling hurt inside. It is way of feeling dignity when you feel you have been defeated. It's a way of saying i'm O.K. though i may not measure up to someones way of looking at love. It's a momentary reprieve from the pain. Nothing more. It takes someone of importance or someone that we have given importance that affects us to want to jab at them from the sidelines. Otherwise; why the concern or energy wastage? Everything else is trivial and the mark of triviality weighs heavy on the sleepers that are novices in this school of life. But for us; Inside we really know what we are doing but it is like ingesting pain relief when  the outlet for relief seems unavailable.

It doesn't take much reflection too see whats behind those who care and those who seek attention in the most convoluted ways but still just can't seem to get enough. It is part of the knotty, tangled road we have layed out for us to disengage ourselves from. It's a form of ego; the trickster once again working to derail us from the spiritual path. Although mixed with it and behind it all is this constant unquenchable desire for love that no human can be expected to give to us. We can never expect others to love us the way we want to be loved but we still show are needy nature when it is not forthcoming and we complain and criticize. Many times it is an expression of perverted love. It takes some human understanding to recognize it but those who are perceptive can see the little hurt child. The boy or girl in us all. Not too many things turn out the way we expect them. But i don't want to get hung up on that either.  Smiley
