this world is made of our desires.  my existence is due to my desire. the causal  body.
with the aim to exhaust our desires and remove the cause, this is the teaching of kaivalya upnishad.
It is great  to be with you.

Sometmes we are able to see the cause of desire. It starts from the causal
realm which manifests on this plane thru thought.  That is another
reason we watch our thoughts. We  observe  them. iIt often takes
some of the power from them to create more karma for ourselves.
We begin to have witnessing consciousness.  All happenings here on the physical plane are initiated in the
causal world which we can see manifesting in thought.

We attempt to remove the cause of desire and the illusion
of the physical realm by observing thought in action
during meditation as you have said Prabhatsinha
in your words.
