I would be grateful to see such people. I have yet to find one ‘Christian’ that will even meditate one hour. Sorry Uwi I have been confined to U.S. and Canada all my life. I will say though I’m fortunate to have met many eastern mystics who meditate long hours and keep their minds on God most if not all the time.
I have never claimed to be infallible, that I have knowledge of, but I can only speak of my limited experience in life. It would be nice to meet such Christians that for instance stayed in the desert 40 days and nites as Jesus did. The question I have is did Jesus play with lizards out there? Or did he constantly talk to God and bore him to tears. Quite likely he listened to God. And that is the point I try to make to ‘most’ Christian’s I meet who actually in the past have tried for hours at a time to convince me that meditation is somehow evil.
I would refer you back to the first post I made here in this thread to show you there are other Christians who have felt much different. So how will the Christians you met prove me wrong? Do you see why this thread was started? I have met some that meditate thus the thread I began here.
So, maybe now it would be fair to say the Christian knowledge about meditation (or better to say the lack thereof, you were referring to) applies to Christians in the land of the free (i.e. Umrica)?
Or would that be (again) putting things too far? In that case, Steve does the term Christians you named in your post only apply to the Christians that Stevie ever met?
It is obvious that many Christian’s have a very limited understanding of what meditation is, and obviously 🙄 did not explore it further than their own preconceptions. ...
