~ A special day at the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine ~

A very happy day ~ August 21, 2010 was the 60th anniversary of the beautiful Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, first dedicated by Paramahansa Yogananda on August 20, 1950. There were blessings, prayers, and live music played and sung representing Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam at the outdoor shrine on the lake. A feast was served of vegetable coconut curry, a salad of watercress and avocado, and for dessert, watermelon ice cream, all handmade in the temple kitchen. Later, after dark, hundreds of candles in Indian made tree bark boats were floated across the lake. It was a beautiful day and a magical evening!

This seems like a perfect place to have one of my psycho dramas!
We could do the screening by Halloween and have a midnite showing by then under the chandeliers that show in the picture.
