Brother Chidananda, the SRF president, said that the world is going through a stage where old patterns are trying to suppress new patterns from emerging. I'm quite certain the election of Trump is a manifestation of this as he represents so much of what was wrong in the last century. It's all meant to be...good on you for trying to help facilitate a new paradigm for the world which is inevitable but it does seem likely that it needs a lot more shakes before we can, "WAKE UP MATE"
‘Suppressing new patterns from emerging’ thank you for the phrase. It reminds me of what Yogananda said about the United States. While he said many nice things he also said that the U.S. is held back by misplaced priorities. It is amazing how saints and Masters are able to encapsulate a whole culture.
Amma resorts to small stories to illustrate her point. She said that it is foolish to not think of others because their problems may eventually be ours. A man was yelling help from the first floor of a ten story building because of a fire. And a man on the 10th floor said; “Why should I help you? It doesn’t affect me!”But what he does not acknowledge is that the fire may soon consume his floor as well. And so it is with Cloneland USA today. We may think and believe ‘America first’ but ignoring the rest of the world will be like ripples on a pond returning back to us.
