yogananda has compared us to being the dream creations of the creator. the example was to provide some relief/understanding with the transitioning of leaving our physical bodies. when we go to sleep and dream we create characters which we identify with and experience through- usually these dream characters aren't thinking of their maker or its body which is resting untouched in another world but when we wake from our slumber we understand those characters as aspects of ourselves.
Seems you have been pondering dreams. Some dreams are more significant and souls can visit us. Never thought of Yogananda’s analogy being used to help us make a transition but rather to understand what we are going thru and the suffering others endure is only a dream regardless of the significance and attachment we have to the suffering. Yea we think of our maker but do our dream characters ever think 🤔 of their maker? Hmmm that would be something.
