I want to open this tread with an admission. That is; not all meditation approaches are the same. In fact there are quite a few practices and various methods and approaches are welcome here at the portal. We are a group of people promoting free information and experiences of members, which may differ.

I must admit the practice of looking up at the third eye during meditation took some getting used
to for me. At first it seemed somewhat strenuous. And after all I was told to look down at the tip of the nose in Buddhist meditation groups. But after years of practicing looking at the third eye which is shown in all eastern culture as inscribed in the forehead of many Indian women, I have become more accustomed to it and since doing so it seems I’m at times able to see the colors of the chakras much more vividly. It also helps keep myself awake and not drifting into a passive state of subconsciousness. The eyes should be directed to the place in the forehead between the two physical eyes, as seen in many of the photos and artists renditions of Babaji seen on this site.

When Amma would bless devotees during darshan you would often get an imprint of the third eye smeared on your forehead from her. Paramahansa Yogananda mentioned many times, as do his monks and nuns, to meditate with the eyes turned upward towards the spiritual eye, but not in a strained manner. He differentiated three states of consciousness of the eyes. Lowered; subconscious. straight ahead; consciousness and towards the poin between the eye brows; the Christ conscious center. As Jesus said; If thine eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.

Matthew 6:22-23 KJV - The light of the body is the eye: if - Bible …
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Jitendra,
I like how you invite people to post about their own experiences of meditation, and share the idea that there are different approaches to it.
Beautiful discussion of filling one's eye - and thereby oneself - with light!

Lately I'm reading a lot of Matthew Fox.  He is a Dominican by training (though no longer a priest, due to his beliefs) and has Daily Meditations one can receive by email.  He is also a prolific author of books.  The first I ever read was an explanation of the Lord's Prayer, a great introduction to a more gracious approach to being with God than one will find, for example, with "literal" interpretations of the Bible.
He has come to explore the writings and the heart of Thomas Aquinas, a 13th c. thinker who was interested in finding truth wherever it might be found.
Here are some examples of Aquinas' writings:  Every truth without exception - and whoever may utter it - is from the Holy Spirit.
The old pagan virtues were from God.
Revelation has been made to many pagans.

He was a Creation Spiritualist;  He saw God in real-life things. For him, all being is holy, a revelation of the divine.
Perhaps this is why I find myself closest to the Eternal when in the wildness of the Land... where my mind can be still

Yes it’s been awhile since we really revered nature and experienced her revelation together; it would be nice 😊 to be apart of that happening again and bring your book(s) along.

That would be nice 😊…. I have found new places that I believe you would enjoy exploring… that would give you feelings of oneness of nature as we’ve experienced in the past.
