marijuana, peyote and other conscious altering plants.

Although I do not personally make a habit of using mind altering plants as a substitute for meditation; I have found that occasional doses can have a different perspective on relationships, behaviors and life. I was with a friend here on the portal yesterday and saw our friendship in a different perspective after such occasion. And also am grateful for another long time member here who we have shared some similar experiences over our lives.

I can see why some cultures use these mind altering plants in some of their spiritual practices.

I have found it to be very theraputic. Though, using it to an excess is also counter-intuitive. I enjoyed the times, when it was just a "little bit". I have recently decided to stop using my favorite substance this decade. Wine. It has been theraputic and allowing me to cry out deep wounds in my soul, it's purpose has been served. Time to focus on health and healing without it. I purged. Thanks for this post Steve. It's a reminder how we are all on our own journey but when we can share special moments it is a real Joy Smiley
