Bhagavad Gita
Lord Krishna convinced Arjuna to fight in the battle against his relatives by reciting Bhagavad Gita, a 700 verse in Sanskrit1. He invoked the concept of dharma, sacred duty, which sustains the cosmic order23. As a member of the warrior class, Arjuna had the primary sacred duty of fighting righteous battles2. Krishna told Arjuna to arise with a brave heart and push forward to destroy the enemy1. Arjuna's banner bore the emblem of Lord Hanumana4.

In this case I’m relating this view of the Bhagadvita to the war in Ukraine. What vision would you like to see for Ukraine….since the Russian government is attempting to enforce their vision and the Ukrainians would like to have their own?

At some point we must ask the question how much of the life of Jesus and Krishna were real lives of humans living on earth who had real life decisions about life. Their lives were not just metaphors, for stories told. They were actual biographical events.

Humanity has a problem by its very existence on this planet.  We are at war with each other. How do we deal with this problem?

...  We are at war with each other. How do we deal with this problem?

In my opinion, we certainly shouldn't deal with this like the majority does. Countering aggression of any kind with more aggression always has led to more conflict. This is a historically proven fact. And I'm not the first one to say so, by no means.

Make peace, not war. De-escalate, whenever possible. To me, this is the only way.

What leads to war and more war are greediness and hunger for power and money. It's always been like that.

Regarding Ukraine, let me please not get into this. History is much different in this case, than what is purported in the corporate media. I don't think America should have any say in what happens in Ukraine, or if the Krim belongs to Russia or not. The war in Ukraine has been going on since 2014.

Also, I'm out of any political discussion, per se.

I don't think this board is a very spiritual board. When weighing all the posts made, it just seems as if 1-2 persons here continuously re-post things from their own social-media bubbles, for the main part (with few exceptions).

So I have to be very curt.

Sorry for this, Steve.

You want to talk spirituality, look at the situation transcendelly. If you took a God’s eye view, you would see a planet, we call earth populated by these humanoid creatures. They are composed of matter and spirit. What im attempting to do is give more emphasis to the spirit component and less to the physical body. The fact is; if we would look at the planet, we would see that we humans place more emphasis on the physical. The point is if we continue to put more energy on the physical we will continue to have wars. However we have a way out. We have created many inventions to increase our material well being. I mean we have created the wheel. The spiritual way, is the way out of the physical and the only way because of the limitations of the material way of existence. Now we need to get the spiritual in balance with the material. We are having that awareness by having people engaged in such discussions at the portal.

I believe we may return to this subject at some point. Yet I’m ok with conversations coming to an impasse because we may share different views on some things and not others. For me it is a good practice to exercise patience with myself and with those I come in contact. Many times in life I’ve seen relationships with others come to a standstill as well. I’ve become more comfortable with it over the years. There are many things we can work on in ourselves, with out confrontation with some differences we have with others.

Re the Ukrainian war. In my opinion, you guys are both right.

This is a war of invasion, started by a corrupt superpower that flaunts having atomic bombs perfectly capable of destroying the West (not citing the fact that it would spell their doom as well). Ukrainians have inherited some of the Russian genes, they are the original Russians, so they have been pretty brutal in their defense, but they just had to defend, no other choice if a national identity had to be saved.
Russia also scared the sh1t out of other nations. She surprised me for sure, I believed some progress had been made from the times of Stalin. Very little, apparently.
It revealed itself for what she is. The ensuing alliance of Western nations was probably unavoidable.

On the other side, there was no effort at de-escalation from the American side, as I've already written, and this has surprised even military commentators. Usually, when a war starts, de-escalation is the first thing tried and may avoid death and ruin. Why this? Biden was the first one to escalate and ignore diplomacy. As evil as Putin may be, why ignore totally the rules of diplomacy? If diplomacy fails, then it is clear that everything was attempted to avoid the total ruin of a nation (Ukraine). We cannot say this attempt has been made. Why?
Even Arjuna tried a de-escalation with his cousins, and after they made clear they would have never come to terms, he unwillingly took up arms.

In my limited vision, of course Russia is the villain here, but the West, America first, seems not to have made all the possible to avoid harm from the villain.

I agree with Italy supporting Ukraine, but only because things are without another remedy now. Some blame for this conflict, for not having been able to avoid it, should be taken by America and Europe.

Steve, that's perfectly OK with me.

I didn't want a "confrontation" as you put it, but I thought you wanted to continue our discussion on the thread topic, as you specifically created this thread and pointed to it from another thread... I only wanted to "discuss", not to "step on your toe". If I did that, please, forgive me.

OM - Peace.

I believe we will get to the topic soon enough. Like all religions texts people interpret them differently, although you seem to take a metaphorical view of the Bhagavad Gita which I would agree to also; And believe Krishna was communicating to Arjuna how to change and conquer his senses, habits and ascend spiritually. I also believe that while this was true, there was a real life battle going on at that time of the Kurushetra war and Krishna council-led Arjuna to fight it and establish righteousness back to his kingdom. Krishna also advised Arjuna how to deal with his feelings about the murder and bloodshed that he would no doubt have to contend with and instigate.

Considering "Consciousness" as all there is, then it makes sense you see a parallel between the inner world and outer world.

Cheers!

In the case for America its complications can be simplified. We're a compromised nation no longer based on diplomacy. We have an, "installment" of a "president" and a "weaponized" justice system. I don't think we've completely fallen, but damned if we ain't close.
