The most amazing thing about prayer and visualization

Being around a Master you are constantly blessed with their wisdom. Since I was fortunate to spend so much time with Amma and other monks and nuns I still reflect on the things they told me over the years. One thing Amma always said was that prayer for others helps us as much as it does others. I have come more and more aware of the truth of that statement through the years. Praying for others helps us understand our relationship to them and their spiritual blocks as well as ‘ letting them go ‘ because we begin to realize they have challenges and rigidness we previously felt personal pain about. Later we become aware that they must do their own inner reflection, introspection and meditation to get beyond the self imposed obstacles in their consciousness. In actuality many times prayer can free us from the people we are praying for and their hang ups which we may have taken personally.

Many times the people we care about we also feel pain about. You have never really let go until you can release the pain that others have appeared to have given us. Prayer for others can help us release that pain completely. In fact recently I have begun to understand Amma's advice about including visualization and prayer for others. It can be inspiring when we recognize it’s results on us personally!
