When you begin to hear and see astral colors and sounds you recognize how the mind is challenging to settle down through the sounds and sites you see that fluctuate from sitting to sitting and vacillate as well as disperse and evaporate as the focus wanes drowned out by the chatter of the brain with restless thoughts. It is quite similar to listening to a radio station with interference from other surrounding stations.

For me having days of hearing Om followed by a day of uninspired meditation can be a lackluster experience. Although it is nice to know that the peace of meditation is always available for anyone who continues the practice routinely. It can be quite an eye opener in comparison to the practice of prayer which we see at most churches in the United States.
