Use this video with the Aum (Om) technique to remove more distractions that the environment and your mental static intrudes on your consciousness with constant chatter from the lunatic mind.
Yea I just turned on this constant chanting of om to my meditation and used the Om board to practice the Om technique… the sound of om emanates to blot out the constant racket of the minds useless chatter.

Paramahansa Yogananda has stated;
Before practice of the second Kriya, it is helpful to have an armrest such as used for practice of the Aum technique of meditation. If you do not have an armrest, place your chair (covered with a woolen blanket-and a silk cloth on top of it if you wish) before a table that is high enough that when you sit with a straight spine you can rest your elbows on it comfortably and close your ears with a thumbs as in the Aum technique. (If you use an armrest you may sit on the floor or firm bed in one of the cross legged meditation postures, whatever is your custom meditation position.)
